The 2025 Season
The 2025 season proved to be a remarkable chapter in our program's history, marked by outstanding individual performances and significant team achievements.
Mid-Continent League All-League Selections
  • First Team: Trey Zorn (QB), Sam Thielen (WR/DB – Unanimous Selection), Walker Middleton (WR – Unanimous Selection), Wyatt Harmon (LB), Ian Strobel (OL/DL)
  • Second Team: Wyatt Harmon (RB), Dominick Hernandez (WR), Alex Krug (Punter)
  • Honorable Mention: Max Evans (WR), Jamis Self (OL), Alex Krug (LB), Corbin William (DL)
Season Achievements
  • Achieved a stellar 7-3 record, marking the best season in 22 years.
  • Advanced to the Regional round of the Class 2A State playoffs.
  • Secured four road victories, including a dominant performance in the season opener at TMP-Marian.
  • Celebrated the program's first road playoff win since 1979 against Cimarron.
  • Defeated Norton for only the second time in program history.
All-State Recognition
Sam Thielen earned All-State honors as a wide receiver in Class 2A. The Bronco senior had 31 receptions for 660 yards and 8 touchdowns, plus 70 rushing yards and a score, helping Russell to a 7-3 record and the second round of the playoffs.
Media All-State Selections
Trey Zorn earned Media All-State honors as an Athlete, while Walker Middleton was recognized as a Return Specialist. Dominick Hernandez, Wyatt Harmon, and Ian Strobel received Honorable Mention recognition on the Media All-State lists.
